I awoke to a beauty that only a mirror could improve on. I was home because my Nan had passed and in the visit to Hr. Breton I was afforded a much savored freedom to fly the drone in the early hours. As I took to the air a serendipitous boater embarked on his own journey and with a steady hand that only beauty & fate could inspire I captured some of the best aerial footage I have ever had the pleasure of crafting. The way the Captain moved from light to dark and the resulting waves of luminescence that followed him created a magical moment which was heightened by a last minute spiral and the rolling fog off the epic mountains which mark these area with so much majesty. ...

I was pretty stoked to have captured this top to bottom run, freehand with no poles. As you can tell Jer was not sparing the speed so to get him on target, and not fall, as well as getting my other pals zooming in and around him was just the best.

Saturday Night Light Flight …
I had a real curiosity to see what we looked like... as a whole kinda deal. To get some scope of the scene, to tap into the summonings and see the grooving on a big scale. To taste the last drop of the sun was fitting because I believe the lights had also just got turned on, another symmetry you can trust.
I make a point on posts like this to congratulate you all on the mission. We don't see each other often enough in this way... "the long hang". We are sequestered into our tribes and I am confident we hold down those neighbourhoods by which we belong... but this... when the sum of the parts exceeds the whole, well that's good living and the bonds and memories that result help maintain those parts and that whole. So let's be sure to do this again.

New Years Day At Mahoneys Beach
This flight took place during the infamous New Years Day Polar Dip at Mahoney's Beach in Antigonish County Nova Scotia. Dozens of people gathered to participate and spectate and there was even a fire to help warm folks up after their plunge.
What I was not expecting was the etheral fog drapped over the sands. I believe the volumetric light contributed to the beautiful green tint found in the clear waters. The lack of wind also helped with a polished mirror finish that further added to the drama of the scene. ...

This was a property shoot for the most beautiful home of Michel and Zane DeNoncourt located in St. Joseph's Antigonish County. This video was captured in July of 2020.
The editing on this was very clean and minimal, some speed ups were used to keep the interest high, but ultimately you get to see the property up close, far away and from every direction. I started with the Church to give folks who know the area some context right out of the gate. ...

Take a deep breath. I have prepared in this video a space between that which you are doing now and what is to follow after. This is five minutes to decompress, release all the weight and worry and to experience what it would be like to float gently down the mountain. I would encourage you to use these minutes to notice all the thought distractions that enter your mind and to release them as they arrive. Everything will be okay.
This video was captured over Beaver Mountain in Antigonish, and is some of my most relaxed flying I have ever achieved. This was flying meditation for my soul.

The Looking Glass | Jimtown, Nova Scotia | 4K Drone Flight
As a drone pilot and a photographer a big part of the joy in creating comes from discovering a previously unknown spot. A place where light interacts with matter in the most unique and beautiful ways. Such was the case when I discovered the reflection of this tree in the shadowed yet still waters of Ogden Pond. With some careful maneuvering I was able to locate the centre of my bliss and chart a course that would tell the story of its source. I hope these two minutes bring you peace and stillness. 🙏

The perfect temperature inversion laid a carpet of thick fog across Antigonish and combined with the rising sun's orange rays to turn the cool tones of lead into a fiery gold. From Sea To Sky
A calm sea and a warm sunrise set the scene for Setting Day. The wakes created by the lead boats rippled the ocean into silken waves, each one stacking perfectly upon another. Outward and onward the men and women of Antigonish sail into a new season as much as a new day. The months preceding this voyage were tumultuous to say the least but this day held the promise of a fresh start, a return to something familiar, something easy to understand.. like the sea and sky.

Houses of Light
A lighthouse is a powerful symbol. It warns of danger, it represents home, it's a literal beacon to show you the way. Even for those of us that never venture to the sea these iconic structures sit on precipice of two worlds and serve as a nexus of identity for the lands and waters that they serve.
Herein you see the Arisaig Lighthouse and Cape George Lighthouse rendered in all their glory against the backdrop of a crisp and beautiful February day. The pack ice had filled the strait and offered up a truly rugged backdrop for these architectural anchors.
All of this video was captured by flying manually, its hard to describe exactly how many things you need to do with your fingers to keep the shot steady yet advancing but with time the delicate touch is slowly becoming my own. I hope this video connects with your inner navigator, please let me know if you have visited the spots featured in the video or even if you just like what I did here.
